My Life, My Voice
Teen Therapy Group
My Life, My Voice is a life and social skills group for high school students that will run for approximately 10-12 weeks, starting September 22, 2021. COVID has been a time of decrease social interactions and more isolation. Youth will get a chance to talk with peers their own age about their thoughts, feelings, and struggles as well as build social support. Youth will learn skills for starting and holding conversations with peers and adults. Group members will get the chance to practice these skills with other peers their age. Youth will also learn how to problem-solve and cope with frustration. Group members will work to increase their self-esteem and self-worth. We will explore negative self-talk and learn to increase a positive view of self. Group members will learn how to identify and build healthy relationships through exploring their boundaries and values. Through activities and discussions, group members will learn how to create new and healthier habits for themselves to increase healthy relationships, physical health, and emotional health. COVID has made it difficult for youth to socialize with their peers and learn the life lessons that go along with important friendships. This group is an opportunity to help youth cope with the trauma that is COVID and find support from other youth.
